Coordination Center teaches judges

On September 16, the Coordination Center of the national Internet domain (RU domain coordinator) organized a special lecture for judges. It was held at the Russian Academy of Justice under the Supreme and Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation. The lecture was attended by over 100 judges from all regions of the Russian Federation.

The main topic of the lecture is an explanation of the specifics of the work of the domain name registration system, consideration of the principles of the relationship “Coordination Center-Registrar-Administrator”, analysis and explanation of terminology in this area. In addition, other important points were touched upon, in particular, principles for resolving disputes around domains, the specifics of using evidence in cases involving a global network. It is worth noting that this is only the first lecture from a whole cycle of classes. Apparently, the Coordination Center of the national Internet domain took seriously the training of judges.

Frankly, such an initiative cannot but rejoice. Today, the courts are considering more and more cases related to domain names. And for judges, most of whom have virtually no idea about the domain system, it’s very difficult to make the right decision. As a result, judicial errors may arise (and arise), the correction of which costs people a lot of money and nerves. Let's hope that the Coordination Center will not stop and will bring the process of education of judges to the end. In this case, you can count on improving the quality of judicial decisions.
