For something faster and more useful. The task manager often opens up long and tedious, especially when it is really needed :)
Process killer is a miniature (about 30 kb) program that opens instantly and pops up on top of all windows even where the task manager can’t do this (in many stuck full-screen games). AnVir Task Manager
A very versatile program. I probably don’t use even half of the possibilities, but this is what bribes me:
Tray icons that show the loading of the processor, memory and hard drive. Everything is customizable.
Startup manager : any attempt of any program to be added to startup is fixed. You can enable or disable the change, just like in firewalls.
Delayed startup . I have about 50 entries in autoload - and although most of them are miniature dlls, it still takes a long time to wait. Delayed autoload comes to the rescue: loading in a minute (this value can be changed) applications with an interval of 10 seconds (for demanding applications. The interval can also be changed)
Many other useful, albeit less popular features , such as a process manager with a detailed description of everything and everything, management of windows services and much more. Homepage: www.anvir.net Free for non-commercial use. About 1Mb.
CapsLang
Everything is simple here: by capslock we switch the layout, by shift + capslock - the caps itself.

AltDesk
A very useful thing, especially if you do not have a widescreen monitor (and, as a result, 10 programs on the taskbar do not fit). Virtual tables are a great way out, in addition, you can open everything on one table for work, on the other for surfing and so on. Home page: www.astonshell.ru/altdesk By the way, these are the developers of the alternative Aston shell. The program is shareware (30 days trial), the installed one weighs about 5 MB.

Win + N - and infinite scope for recording your thoughts, without being distracted at all by anything. Plus - you never need to press the “save” button, select a directory and do other tedious actions. Once in the settings, a folder for notes is set - voila. The homepage is not known, but it can’t help either, because the software is very paid. By the way, it weighs a lot :) If anyone has suggestions for replacing with an adequate alternative without sacrificing functionality - you are welcome to kamenty.

Not everyone likes TotalCommander and similar file managers. I do not like. One panel with a list of files is enough for me, and one with a folder tree. Someone will say that you can do the same in Total'e if you wish. Can. Keyword - if desired. If I need a hammer, I'd rather use a hammer rather than trying to make one out of a Swiss knife. That's when I need a corkscrew - that’s another thing :)
So, we make finger-shaped notches on the handle of the hammer. To do this, go to the qttabbar.wikidot.com project home page and download QTTabBar and QTAddressBar from there (only for WinXP, in Vista it makes no sense). Programs require the .NET Framework no lower than the second version.
The screenshot shows the address bar as in Vista (I have XP), as well as tabs for Explorer. But not single tabs! QtTabBar supports plugins. Having spent 5 minutes setting them up once, I saved an abyss of time by adding “create folder” and “create text file” hotkeys. In addition, you can open the folder in a new tab by clicking on the wheel - no need to think about whether it is a browser or a file manager. In the same way, with a wheel, tabs can be closed. On the second screen, another feature is visible - you can navigate inside the folder through the context menu: it is sometimes useful when you get bored to go back “up” ten times. Plus, in this mode, clicking on any element of the "context" menu is a link, and when you hover over a picture or text document, you can view its contents without opening it.
Unlocker Assistant
When deleting folders, we often encounter the error “the file cannot be deleted, because busy with another process ”or something like that. Using TeraCopy you can get a detailed report about which file was copied and which not, pause, continue, queue files, change the buffer size, and much more.

This wonderful program changes encodings easily and simply, and also hotkeys (Ctrl + W) transfers lines across the width of the window, but I don’t need more, which is why I’ve taken over Bred and not some kind of monster like Notepad ++.
