Subbotnik or how we made the world cleaner.

Olga Bratishcheva,

Bank localization specialist , bag, plastic bottle, box. This is not the morning after the
holiday in the office, this is a community work day, or rather, Friday in the
Losiny Ostrov park in Moscow. When we were invited to take part in cleaning the park, the idea was accepted with considerable enthusiasm. And now we, in the company of relatives and friends, drove along the Yaroslavl highway. At the entrance to the park, a guide and a place keeper Victor was waiting for us - he said that moose on Losiny Island are still found, that a third of the total supply of Moscow’s drinking water is stored in tanks and that, despite the conservation area, the park has enough garbage: warm weather , barbecue, picnics.

Armed with gloves and garbage bags, we went to clean the
coast of the quarry. In some ways, it was like picking berries and mushrooms: if you
look superficially - grass, shrubs; take a closer look - there are so many
non-ecological things on the earth. Competed: "How many
bags do you have ?" "I have three." "Oh, and I'm already finishing the scarlet." Met an elderly couple. He: “Guys, where are you from? Some kind of organization? ” “We are from Google.” “Google? I don’t know that. ” She: “What are you! This is an IT company! And so, like this, take out the garbage? Thanks." We still did not have enough bags, we still had the strength, desire and garbage. But still, the world has become a little cleaner - we ourselves felt it when we walked back to Victor’s house.

As in the school essay, we returned home tired and happy. Someone discussed current projects, someone read peacefully, and only the children played with inexhaustible energy: “And you, and you are Spider-Man!” “And you are GPS!”

Google Cleanup is an initiative supported by Google’s offices around the world.
