Talk about interacting with freelancers

For many, especially small, organizations, due to the acute shortage of labor, project management is increasingly moving to the plane of interaction with remote specialists, freelancers. Differences in the principles of organizing a work process in a remote mode from working in a team entail well-known costs, in particular:

    1. The inability to accurately plan and control deadlines (today the freelancer's computer crashed, his head hurt yesterday, and tomorrow family troubles will certainly arise) .

    2. The mismatch between the work schedule of the project manager and the time of activity of the contractor (the difference in time zones does not seem to me to be a weighty argument, I think that the payment should include compensation for possible discomfort associated with changing the schedule of the contractor).

    3. Lack of trust on both sides - when the project manager and the contractor are in different cities, and even states, it is quite problematic to maintain confidence that the opposite side will fulfill the terms of the agreement (agreement, TK), the mutual coordination of which is often recorded only by correspondence by email or chat in IM.

Actually, encountering the aforementioned difficulties every now and then, I was puzzled by the analysis of previous experience and the compilation of a certain procedure for the interaction of the company (customer) I represent and the remote employee (contractor), in connection with which I propose to take an active part and share experience and / or ready-made developments in In this context, all the people who are involved in project management. The opinions of freelancers in this regard will also be very interesting (what, for example, in your opinion, is the optimal [really motivating] amount of a fine for not meeting deadlines? What is the size of the premium for advancing deadlines?).

As a result of the discussion, I will certainly lay out the final document, which will be fixed by me during further interaction with freelancers - I think this will be useful not only to me ... Those who have already developed similar rules for themselves, I think it's time to rethink and optimize them :)
