Bookmix: New Book Mix

Today I learned about a new book network - Bookmix .

I decided to try it; everything new attracts me, and besides, I have not yet found a service that would completely satisfy me. I tried many, but everywhere something is missing ... ( I have written on my blog about LiveLib book networks, My Library, Books in my hands and book search engines Bookmate more than once. ) The

main page briefly tells about the project, here the last ones are neatly displayed reviews, popular books, new arrivals, breaking news and categories with genres. On the right is your personal account, search, rating of participants, tags and bestsellers.

Registration is standard - enter the required e-mail (it will be login), first name, last name, gender, date of birth and password; Those who wish can immediately indicate contact details (icq, skype and phone), upload an avatar, briefly tell about themselves.

Everything looks neat and stylish ( I won’t say that it’s web two-zero, because I don’t know what it is ), tastefully, it seemed to me that everything was in place. I can say about navigation that it was convenient for me, there were no difficulties like “where is this ...”.

Users can use groups (and create their own), as well as add news from the world of books. The project does not have a forum, and it seems to me that it is not needed, because you can communicate in groups. Adding news is a step that not everyone can decide; on the one hand, it’s great when users update the news feed, but on the other hand, spam messages are very likely. Apparently, the users themselves will fight with the latter by voting for interesting materials.

I would also like to say thanks to the creators of the service for implementing the addition of the book. I have not seen such a detailed list with genres and categories on any book service! Now I don’t have to rack my brains when adding a book, say, Umberto Eco Role of the reader. Adding reviews is also well thought out: this is your little headline note (you can vote for reviews too).

(And yet there is a fly in the ointment - I don’t understand why the books I add do not fall into my reading list, as well as reviews. Apparently, the service’s dampness is to blame. I couldn’t add the reader’s role to the library, although I added it twice, once with a review even ...)

I still lack a convenient transfer of all books from a third-party service, or a convenient download immediately with a list (well, in a certain format and all that), so as not to suffer. Therefore, I can’t say how often I will use Bookmix. But I hope that the service will find its fans, even despite the rather fierce competition in the niche of book social networks.
