New surprises from ICQ-AOL

Looking into ICQ this morning, I was surprised - in the first place on the contact list proudly showed off the group “Not In List” in which there were several unfamiliar contacts. This was strange, since I had anti-spam turned on, and before that, no bot broke through it. In addition, unlike the usual Kipovskiy Not-In-List list, in which all contacts are marked with gray flowers - these showed real statuses, some even X-Status.

The anti-spam log showed that these are really spam bots that sent me an authorization request with ads. The request was successfully eaten, but they were in the contact list. Then the bots began to catch up, glorifying the advertisement not with an authorization request, but simply with a message - here the antispam is powerless, as it does not respond to those who are already in the contact list.

After some time, the infamous 12111-ICQ System removed itself from the contact list. This finally convinced me that AOL decided to bring a new present to its users. The corresponding topic was found on the bale forum: forum.qip.ru/showthread.php?t=28002 so I realized that I couldn’t imagine.

Here is another “joy”. As it turned out, gramilla had already written about this , but its topic was not understood (as it resembled the usual hit of an unknown user in the group “Not In List” on the client side) and was minus.

I really hope that authors of popular clients will soon release anti-spam patches.

UPD:It seems that, as usual in ICQ, the problem is irregular in nature - for several hours now the bots are quietly and quietly getting stuck on the anti-spam
