The crisis of the genre
Despite the internal struggle and unwillingness to produce “topics about the painful”, I decided to act as a mediator in order to put an end to this aimless lament.
I do not want to accept this or that position, but I understand both that and another. We can do without excuses and accusations, though everyone has their own. But if you try to streamline it, then it fits into two words - the Genre Crisis.
Habr is now in a crisis of the genre. And when I say this, I mean not only the TM team, but the community itself. Habr has passed into a new stage that you will agree, never and it is never given to anyone easily. It’s like during an illness. First, the patient is unwell, then he has a crisis, and then he is recovering.
What is the crisis? From the community’s side, the crisis is felt that “everything is wrong”, “Habr is not the same”, “rating is shit”, “banned my friends”, “it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work”, “and just do that promised. " Right? Seems Yes. But!
Where is your tolerance and loyalty to the resource on which you spend / spent so much time? Where is the elementary patience and belief that everything will work out? Is it really necessary to behave like little children who need everything at once? Do you really think that having started such a big deal, the Habr’s developers are satisfied with what has been achieved and are sitting, spitting on the ceiling? After all, it has been written repeatedly that most of the changes and innovations are yet to come ...
But what happens on the part of TM? Everything is very simple. Looking at all this “Yaroslavna’s cry”, with howls and ensembles, at the complete lack of loyalty on the part of the community, anyone will get angry. The work is overwhelming, everything is done on the fly, and the community, represented by famous figures, leaves in batches for the above reasons, and even slamming the door to the end.
In some cases, TM, in my opinion, went a little too far when they tried to restore order, but you can understand them too - we are all not without sin.
In general, you can describe the situation for a long time and from different angles. And always everyone will remain in their own opinion. So let's stop doing self-healing. Let's take a timeout.
All who are dissatisfied with something can just do something else, except Habr. Everyone who is satisfied continues to calmly write / discuss articles and topics, and developers will calmly go about their business without being distracted by a bicker. You look and in a month the storm in a glass will calm down. And all will be well. Like after a "disease."
Afterword: I would like to clarify that this topic was written by me for the sole purpose of trying to establish a kind of status quo in which everyone will be busy with their work for a certain time, and only then will look at the results of what and how has changed.
Habr does not need revolution, purge, change of elite, etc. Habr needs development. From which everyone will benefit. So let's provide it.
Z.Y. And yes, I almost forgot. You can lower my karma here ))
