Where to find Open Source Music?

You can laugh at Open Source , you can ignore it, you can live it. Open Source software is a ubiquitous phenomenon and everyone has the right to treat it as they like.

What is open source music ? Why not just music? And where can I find it? ..

By analogy with software, Open Source music is music for which free copying, distribution, demonstration, modification and development of own works based on this work is permissible provided that the authorship of the original is mentioned.

The most striking example of licensing such music is Creative Commons , one of its types has already been described by alizar in its recent topic .
In a nutshell, according to Creative Commons, the author of the work voluntarily transfers part of his rights to the public. See how it works best in the comics on Creative Commons Russian License Licensing website .

Music protected by such a license can be used not only for educational films. If you are a musician, you can completely legally remix, cover versions of original compositions. You can use it as music for podcasting. You don’t have to pay anyone for this, but only if you yourself follow the original license.

    Where to find?
It would be foolish to write about free music and not share links =)
Jamendo- So far, only about 90,000 tracks by independent artists.
Opsound - about 352 more artists
At Archive.org - there is a lot of similar music at all.

    Update:
    Magnatune

ZY If you can share a link to free music - I do not forbid. I urge =)
