Specialists with E1.ru are now promoting the Mail.Ru project in Yekaterinburg

    Today, Mail.Ru announced the opening of a sales office in Yekaterinburg. This is the second regional office of Mail.Ru, the first was opened in Nizhny Novgorod and is a development office (similar to the representative office of Yandex, created in the Ural capital last year).



    “At the first stage, the office in Yekaterinburg will mainly solve the tasks of the company's commercial service,” says Dmitry Grishin, general director of the commercial service of Mail.Ru, “However, in the future we plan to expand the scope of the branch. They will also be engaged in the adaptation of portal services for regional users. ”

    Today, Mail.Ru has virtually no regional content. The company plans to sell to Yekaterinburg advertisers the attention of the local audience of the federal project. During the week, 209 thousand Internet users in Yekaterinburg visit Mail.Ru, while the weekly audience of the leading local site E1.ru is 196 thousand users (visitors to E1.ru from other regions are not taken into account here, which makes up about 12% of visitors portal). At the same time, the company's specialists said that they plan to compete not with local Internet resources, but with other advertising carriers in our city.

    “The representative office in Yekaterinburg is Mail.ru’s first regional sales office, a kind of launching pad for testing our penetration opportunities in the regions,” says Denis Kharlamov, Regional Development Director of Mail.ru.

    Today, two people work in the Ural sales office: Lidia Tretyakova - the head of the Ural-Siberian branch, well-known in Yekaterinburg as the former head of the Internet portal www.E1.ru , and Nikitina Lera - senior sales manager, who worked for three years in the leading sales service Yekaterinburg portal.

    The main business of Mail.ru is the sale of media (banner) advertising. In Yekaterinburg, the company plans to work mainly with direct advertisers and plans in the near future to occupy 25% of the media market for Internet advertising in the Urals capital.

    Ekaterinburg advertisers are invited to buy thousands of banner displays on Mail.ru with geo-targeting to their city and the ability to limit the number of banner displays to a unique user. For the period of entering the new market, Mail.ru developed a special offer for the first customers, reducing the cost of placing the banner by almost three times (1 million impressions, the first customers will be able to buy for 57 thousand rubles). At the same time, the cost of a thousand impressions on Mail.ru is practically caught up with the price of placing a similar banner on E1.RU.

    Next year, the company is going to hold a series of educational seminars for Ekaterinburg advertisers, explaining to them what are “thousand impressions”, “unique user”, “geo-targeting” and other Internet concepts.

    “At present, in Yekaterinburg, there is a very acute shortage of advertising platforms covering the Internet audience of the capital of the Urals and meeting the modern requirements of both regional and large federal advertisers. This is what Mail.ru advertising mediums are designed to satisfy, which are primarily intended for such customers as banks, car dealers, travel companies, mobile operators, and premium-class brands, ”the company’s official press release says.
