
YouTube's regional expansion begins
Google has registered country-specific domains for the YouTube site in nine countries: Brazil , France , Ireland , Italy , Japan , Holland , Poland , Spain, and the United Kingdom . Thus, the regional expansion of YouTube begins, which sooner or later will reach Russia.
National versions of sites are fully translated, allowing you to search for content. Over time, the national versions will realize the possibility of rating the stories, leave comments on clips posted on national websites, and use the localized menu: “Video”, “Channel”, “Categories” and “Community”.
In preparation for launching the service on European domains, YouTube has entered into agreements with leading regional content providers, including BBC, France 24, Antena 3 (Spain), Cuatro TV, Portuguese RTP, Dutch companies VPRO and NPO, as well as with European football clubs " Chelsea, Milan, Real Madrid, and the non-profit organizations Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, and Doctors of the World.
