3D browser. Inconvenient at first glance and at the second too.

Looking for information about Microsoft Surface, I came across a message about a 3D browser. After the videos about the megastole from the software giant, it looked quite relevant. This miracle is called SpaceTime.

    What is it?

SpaceTime is a web space visualizer. The most convenient when viewing multi-site resources, such as: search engines, online stores, auctions, etc. The disadvantage is that it supports specific web resources, which is not surprising - no standards for describing search results or storefront of a web store have been noticed so far. Therefore, this product will be more interesting to an American audience.

At the moment, the browser supports the search for pages and pictures from Google, eBay auction search, Yahoo! Flickr are also announced. You can also download regular web pages.

There are many rivulets, therefore it takes a long time to load and eats a lot of resources, one processor takes from 20 to 50%. The minimum resolution is 1280 x 1024, and for monitors from 19 "and younger, the program is, in principle, of little relevance. Impressions Delivered quickly, didn’t ask anything, didn’t load at all for the second time. Product of the future, what’s already there. Besides, beta can be forgiven.

Working with pictures and lots of eBay is certainly pleasing. The ability to scroll through all the lots and get acquainted with the characteristics of each allows you to quickly browse without waiting for the loading of each page. By the way, the connection needs at least 768kbps. On the other hand, you cannot sort the search results, refine the search and, most importantly, along with the necessary information, you will get a lot of garbage and unnecessary pages, especially in the search on Google pages, since each search result (first 10) will load automatically.

Obviously, objects in volumetric space are inconvenient to control with either the mouse or the keyboard. The mouse is used only to navigate through the results, the arrows on the keyboard can control movements in space. After some time, the problem arose of searching in this space for opened pages: they opened, but it is not clear where. Perhaps this is just a matter of habit, but at first glance it would be preferable to use both hands for manipulation, as in the Microsoft Surface or Perspective Pixel.

In addition to inconvenient navigation, the program has an ill-conceived interface: the minimum of actions that can be performed with the mouse in order to save a picture from the search is to select a submenu in the menu by right-clicking and then only save.

The implementation of viewing regular pages is somewhat doubtful, because the only thing that the program offers, unlike existing browsers, is to build sites in a row. This can be done with external tools, the same Beryl provides much more functionality when working with application windows. To start working with a window, you need to click on it, and then it opens, as if the site was opened in a regular browser, and to exit the view mode, you need to press a separate button again.

    Total The

idea is interesting and not new, but at the moment it is unlikely to be very popular. The program is focused on working with graphic objects in the first place, and using two browsers - one for graphics, the other for the rest - seems like a dubious idea.

However, the program is for American consumers, and as you know, they relate to little things with great interest. The absence of the installation wizard also says something.

There are many shortcomings, there are also enough bugs. The Russian language program does not support.
