Hundreds of “satellites” are instantly formed around each popular web service - many auxiliary services that offer additional functions and services for the audience of large portals.
It is known that each large Internet company has its own policy to attract independent developers. This is a mutually beneficial cooperation: it is also beneficial for developers to create additional services for an existing audience.
For example, an infrastructure of support services has already been formed around the MySpace social network : from designing personal pages to special targeting tools to help the advertiser. Some services are paid, while others earn from contextual advertising.
A similar infrastructure of “satellites” is taking shape around other popular web services. For example, the Internet has published a complete list of services for Flickr , official and unofficial. It’s hard to believe, but this list contains almost two hundred items! Of these, only eight are official services, and the rest are unofficial. The best ones are listed below.
Official services
A set of programs for Windows and Mac OS that allow you to send photos directly to your desktop for publication on the site.
Plugin for export from iPhoto , suitable for iPhoto 4 and 5.
