Finam will invest 150 million more in IT

    The management company Finam Management, part of the Finam investment holding , intends to increase the number of investment units in the Finam Information Technology venture fund in the near future, the company said in a press release. As a result of this, it is planned to additionally attract about 150 million rubles in this mutual fund - they will be used to purchase assets in the IT sector.

    In particular, it is possible that a share of the shares of the hosting provider Masterhost will be acquired - such information is published by Vedomosti.referring to sources in Finam. This information, however, has not yet been officially confirmed. “We are considering many different projects for inclusion in our mutual fund,” Vladislav Kochetkov, spokesman for Finam, told Habrahabr. “We are not commenting on the possibility of acquiring Masterhost at this stage, but we can say that this asset seems to us to be promising, effective and having significant potential for growth in value.”

    The newspaper also reports on the probable purchase of up to 30% of Buka , a computer games company.

    As already mentioned, Finam intends to use the funds raised from the sale of shares to purchase additional blocks of shares of a number of companies that are already part of its venture fund structure, as well as to purchase new assets. In particular, money will be invested in Internet companies, software developers, developers of innovative projects and other participants in the IT industry.

    According to Pavel Kirichenko, General Director of Finam Management UK, preliminary agreements have been reached on the entry into the capital of a number of companies, some of which are leaders in their segment. “As a result of transactions, the fund will include dynamic and effective assets,” he said. “The income from ownership of them will be created both as a result of further resale of shares and shares, and due to the growing cash flows of these companies.”

    According to estimates as of September 29, 2006, the value of the assets of the Finam - Information Technology Fund exceeded 250 million rubles. The cost of one share amounted to 714,409.93 rubles. The structure of assets includes stocks and shares in the authorized capital of a number of Russian companies belonging to the IT sector.
