Google is experimenting with affiliate programs

The company Google began experimenting with an advertising model «pay-per-action». This model provides for the sale of advertising with payment for actions performed by users as a result of viewing this advertisement. Perhaps this ad will appear on the AdSense network soon.

Well-known financial analyst David Jackson saidon his blog, The Internet Stock Blog, that he received an email from the AdSense development team. The letter contained an invitation to test the “new function”, testing of which begins in the system. David was encouraged to post a cost-per-action (CPA) payment model on his blog. This model, also known as PPA ("pay-per-action"), has never been used in the AdSense system. And then, among other selected testers, Jackson was honored to test it for the first time.

PPA is considered one of the most effective and least risky payment models, and recently it has become increasingly popular. The model provides for the sale of advertising with payment for actions committed by users as a result of viewing this advertisement. According to the Direct Marketing Association, last year about 14.8% of all advertising budgets in America were spent on affiliate programs and PPA schemes.

As follows from a letter from AdSense developers, site and blog owners can directly communicate with their readers and directly offer them to click on an ad. Such a scheme is quite legal and even preferable during testing. At the same time, the “testers” of the system do not lose their honestly earned profit.

To maximize profits, AdSense experts give site owners a few tips . For example, it’s recommended that you better implement advertising so that it looks organically on web pages and is relevant.

According to experts , the appearance of the PPA advertising model on the AdSense network may well be associated with a similar experiment on the Snap search site, which recently began its work. The founder of this innovative startup is the famous Bill Gross. At one time, he founded, among others, the company GoTo.com (renamed Overture), which invented contextual advertising and revolutionized the Internet economy. Experts emphasize that this is not the first time that Google has borrowed the ideas of Bill Gross.
