The SCaLE 5x conference began this morning. It turns out to be quite interesting. Axel, Michael (Phipps), Jorge (Mare) and I (BGA) arrived at the showroom early in the morning before the opening to set up an exhibition booth. In this room, we are allocated a 10 by 10 meter platform with a table and a pair of chairs. We installed a small desktop PC connected to a 20-inch monitor, a couple of IBM laptops running Haiku, as well as a Macbook Pro with Haiku running in a Parallels virtual machine. We are still waiting for an additional computer and projector that did not arrive on time, as Michael’s luggage was sent to the wrong address. We have been present at the stand for about three hours now and I think that coming to this conference was a good idea. Since the opening, a large number of people have passed, many of which stop and show interest in our stand. What pleases, most of them are geeks who are interested in new technologies. We hope that the majority of those interested will come to our first presentation tonight.
