
Golden Telecom Launches Europe's Largest WiFi Network
On February 1, Moscow will launch the largest WiFi network in Europe. Its owner - Golden Telecom - expects to connect up to 400,000 subscribers by 2010.
Network testing began in late 2006. At the moment, approximately 6.7 thousand access points are installed in Moscow. The cost of deploying the network amounted to $ 10 million, writes the network publication “Vzglyad” with reference to the managing company of Jean-Pierre Vandromme.
The cost of unlimited access to the Golden WiFi network at speeds up to 54 Mb / s will be 500 rubles per month. Hourly pay for one-time users will be 100 rubles. The highest network coverage density is within the Third Transport Ring.
