WikiSeek simplifies Wikipedia searches

The WikiSeek project presented today is intended to become a search engine that will provide a better search on Wikipedia.

WikiSeek was the first project of the American company SearchMe , created in 2005 and funded by Sequoia Capital. The new search engine indexes only Wikipedia pages, as well as those sites to which it refers in the relevant thematic articles. The “category cloud” located at the top of the search results page allows you to refine your query. Firefox users can add WikiSeek to the list of search plugins.

WikiSeek creators statethat the new search engine indexes pages almost instantly after being edited by one or another user. True, only the English version is available so far: the “Russian wiki segment” is not searched, although it can be expected (taking into account the prefix “beta” next to the name of the new search engine).

The main means of making money for WikiSeek will be advertising, but the main proceeds from it will go to the Wikimedia Foundation , the organization that finances the development of Wikipedia.

A mysterious screenshot that appeared in the days when it became known about the development of the search engine Wikiasari, as it now turns out, is actually a screenshot of WikiSeek. If you compare it with the WikiSeek search results pages, you can find only two differences - the logo and the search button at the top of the page.
