Wibree - "little brother" Bluetooth

Nokia has announced a new technology, the use of which in wireless keyboards and mice guarantees a significant reduction in energy costs for work.

The Wibree wireless interface is designed to complement Bluetooth, but can be used independently. Both technologies operate at a frequency of 2.4 GHz and have the same range (about 10 meters). Unlike the "big brother", Wibree is focused not on streaming, but on packet data transmission, due to which a reduction in energy consumption is achieved.

The use of this solution, according to the developers, is advisable not only in wireless computer peripherals, but also, for example, in monitors that monitor the heart rate, as well as sports wrist watches.
