Microformats come to life. Practical use.
For many users, microformats are not a fait accompli, although in reality, not being a programmer, you can already contribute to their development.
For example, livejournal does not currently support microformats in user profiles . However, we can eliminate this moment on our own by publishing the following code on our profile :
http://horsev.dp.ua/avao1001.jpg "alt =" photo "class =" photo "/ style =" float: left; margin: 0 8px 8px 0; ">
http://horsev.dp.ua / "> Andrey P. Horsev
Dnipropetrovsk , 49000 Ukraine
All this may look pretty nice (css at your discretion, the main thing is to correctly indicate the class names for the microformat). For example:
horsev.dp.ua/avao1001.jpg ”alt =“ photo ”class =“ photo ”/ style =“ float: left; margin: 0 8px 8px 0; ”> Andrey P. Horsev
908 Rogaleva, 10Dnipropetrovsk, 49000 Ukraine + 38 0562 476808
You can check how everything works using the extension described above . And on this page my card in microformat also already lies. The plugin will generate a Vcard for your address book.
Now for the cons - email address. I don’t want to upload my e-mail in an open format (for obvious reasons) and there isn’t such a field in the above code, unfortunately this is a very unpleasant detail at the moment.
Despite this, I wish you success in promoting the concept of Microformats!
