Public holidays are always accompanied by official events: parades, rallies, performances of artists on the open stage. Naturally, the preparation of such events and their holding is not cheap pleasure. The same parade on May 9th costs the state very dearly. But what if the money for the preparation for the parade is spent, and on May 9 it rains? Then everything is in vain - and spending, and preparation, plus citizens are unhappy.

Therefore, officials are trying to ensure good weather on such days. And this is not fiction - the dispersal of clouds or, on the contrary, their “sowing” is a long-standing practice. It has now become known how much this practice costs a lot of money to the state. It turns out that only the dispersal of clouds on May 9 costs 85.9 million rubles, writes RBC. And the total amount required to disperse the clouds on 4 public holidays is 346 million rubles.

The price of "meteorological operations" became known thanks to a contract concluded by the mayor's office. The amount mentioned above will be spent on good weather during the May, June and September holidays.

    How to disperse the clouds?

The first experiments in this area began to be carried out after the Second World War. True, the goal was somewhat different - scientists tried to create the conditions for the appearance of clouds, and not their dispersion.

Liquid clouds of nitrogen, carbon dioxide and cement are used to prevent the clouds from appearing. These elements are placed in self-unpacking containers. The reagent is discharged to the clouds from the aircraft. At the same time, the technique ensures that the same cloud is not processed twice. In order to understand where you need to apply the reagents, it is necessary to carry out preparatory work. It is performed using meteorological probes and specialized software that calculates the centers of cloud formation, the growth rate of cloud mass and the direction of movement of air masses in certain layers of the atmosphere. Already after everything is calculated, the pilots are given reagents, and they are told where to drop the containers.

In this case, not all clouds and cloud systems are susceptible to dispersion. Here is a video explaining how clouds are dispersed:
