A number of media outlets reported on April 5th that they launched a system for voluntary registration of unmanned vehicles weighing from 250 grams to 30 kg via the Internet. The project site indicated that it was developed by the Federation of Aviation Model Sport of Russia (FASR) and the Association of Operators and Developers of Unmanned Aviation Systems (ERBAS). However, after some time it became clear that the state bodies have nothing to do with the launch of the site.

The press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reported to the Fontanka publication that registration on the uavreg.ru portal is not provided for by current legislation. The ministry also denied the information from the site that it was created with the support of the Ministry of Transport.

According to whois, the site is registered to ERBAS non-profit organization. At the moment he is no longer responding.

“But the very idea of creating a website is good and requires consideration. The Ministry of Transport of Russia is currently preparing regulatory acts to develop a law that will allow to create conditions for the development of unmanned aircraft flights, ”said the source.

Not further than a week ago, I already wrote that the State Duma of the Russian Federation was concerned with the regulation of airspace for unmanned ships, and last year introduced amendments to the Air Code, which, in particular, introduce mandatory registration of drones weighing over 250 grams.

It is assumed that the registration of the UAV in Russia will be handled by non-governmental organizations, but the procedures and rules have not yet been developed and announced. In this case, according to the law, the mandatory registration of aircraft was supposed to begin on April 1.
