How the reduction of the acquiring rate will affect us (cardholders) - 2
Due to the fact that my previous post How the decrease in the acquiring rate will affect us (cardholders) is greatly affected, I would like to explain my idea a little more fully.

To begin with, I do not work in a bank, so I do not defend their point of view. I have experience working in a payment company. In this regard, the article I wrote is a reflection of the consumer's view, which has its own point of view based on the knowledge gained.
So, my idea is that the size of the interchange is a matter of the bank and the card holder, but not retail at all. And we should be given the choice of what we get for this - a loyalty program, cashback or give an extra% to the seller.
In his book Visa and the rise of Chaordic Organization, the creator of Visa Di Hawk wrote that he was very sorry that he could not get cardholders to participate in his organization on a par with banks.
I write about our rights! I hope those who appreciate my work will put me a plus in karma.

- In reducing acquiring rates, we are talking about lowering the interest rate (the cost of acquiring ) - this is what the bank that issues the card receives from each transaction (on average it is 1.6% in Russia). Initially, an interchange fee was introduced to stimulate issue (issue of cards). It is through the deduction of this commission that banks can afford to maintain a network of ATMs, provide telephone support, support loyalty programs, cashbacks, etc.
- A certain association APELSIN (the name is changed) is engaged in lobbying for lowering the rate. This is an association of large retailers whose payment acceptance rates range from 1.6-2%. They actually operate at a cost that cannot be lowered. Those. the acquirer from large stores earns a penny, the main percentage goes to the issuer.
In this association, APELSIN (the name is changed) has GR'schikov (Government Relations) and PR'schiki (Public Relations) - so they work out their salary.
I asked them a question about whether it is possible on their part to lower prices for goods if the interchange is reduced for you. To which he received an absolutely honest answer “NO”. Moreover, some even proposed to blackmail the state and the Central Bank by raising prices - inflation, if they do not agree to their terms. - As for the comment “It's hard for a restaurant to pay 4% of the commission” - there have been no such rates for a long time. If you still have a 4% commission, then you are lazy and do not want to call 1-2 competing banks. Moreover, large business accounts for 80% of the turnover, and their rates (see above) are almost at cost. At the same time, such large stores as AUCHAN enjoy special conditions from Visa / MC. Therefore, examples of 3-4% are “thrown into the press” to form public opinion.
- There are industries with reduced interchange, for example: replenishment of mobile, airline tickets (1%).
- All commissions are already included in the price of the goods. We are the cardholders and pay this price. Nevertheless, APELSIN is most of all baked for this interchange.
Let's take an example from Britain: British MasterCard users filed a lawsuit against MasterCard - we (cardholders) overpaid the data 1.6%. And here is the store “Long live the king” or “360 degrees” (names changed)? Then they should return the overpaid money to us, but not to retailers. - Now we’ll figure it out, and here are the duties on Internet orders, the comment “everything is mixed in a heap”?
And besides, that it was APELSIN that achieved their introduction. His store is headed by “360 degrees” (the name is changed), which sells the same Chinese goods. In other words, this action does not protect its manufacturer. There is a banal defense of speculation - “it is we who must resell this Chinese product”, and not aliexpress.
So, my idea is that the size of the interchange is a matter of the bank and the card holder, but not retail at all. And we should be given the choice of what we get for this - a loyalty program, cashback or give an extra% to the seller.
