Why LED spots blind
Replacing halogen spot lamps (they are spotlights) with LED ones in suspended ceilings, many encountered a problem: the lighting was comfortable with the old lamps, and the LED spots began to dazzle - it was impossible to look at them.

In fact, the reason is not at all the source of the light and the LEDs have nothing to do with it. The reason is the different lighting angle. In halogen spots with GU10 and GU5.3 caps, the lighting angle is very narrow - 25-35 °. When the lamp is installed in the ceiling, we look at it at a large angle and only a small amount of light enters our eyes - the lamp does not blind.
Most LED spots have an illumination angle of about 100 ° and when we look at such a lamp even from a wide angle, we get a large amount of light in our eyes that blinds.
Fortunately, there are LED spots with a narrow angle of illumination. These are all spots of IKEA, Philips, Osram and some spots of other companies. Their distinguishing feature is one or more lenses.

Spots with a wide angle of illumination can be used in small rooms (for example, in the bathroom and toilet) - where the eyes never fall on the light source. If the spots are located in a large room and the light sources can be seen with a normal view, only spots with a narrow beam of light are suitable. On the site lamptest.ru they can be sorted by the angle of illumination up to 50 °: lamptest.ru/results/?form_9=on&angle_max=50&type_1=on&page=1&sort=lamp_brand .
Ps. In the Lighting Engineering magazine, an article was published about the extensive testing of LED lamps, “Report on the implementation of the project“ Conducting an independent quality control of lighting products ”:
