Everykey: the universal key to your gadgets

The American company Everykey Inc., created in 2012 by graduates of the Case Western Reserve University entrepreneurial course, has already lit up on Kickstarter with its universal key in the form of a bracelet in 2014. Today they present a new working prototype of the device, made in a very miniature form factor:

The project is presented on the Indiegogo platform and raised more than $ 130,000, exceeding the initial bar by almost seven times. By the way, last year the face of the company was the legendary John McAfee, the creator of McAfee antivirus, which moves the device in a very original way.

    What is the essence

With Everykey you do not need to invent and remember passwords for computers and mobile devices as well as to access your accounts. He put the device in his pocket, sat down at the table - everything was unlocked. Moved further than 3 meters - everything was blocked:

According to the developers, Everykey is able to generate passwords and provide access to all combination locks working via wireless communication. And in the near future it is planned to use it to open the entrance doors to the house, and for the car, and for modern anti-theft locks for bikes, and so on.

    How it works

The initial password generation for each device (tablet, smartphone, etc.) occurs using the Everykey Apr application, which performs the main function of the Everykey integrator with your devices. Also, using the application, you can disable Everykey if it is lost and to prevent unauthorized access.

AES 128-bit code is used for cryptographic communication, each time changing the structure. Therefore, even if someone uses a code grabber, intercepting communication will not bring any result.

Of course, Everykey can be stolen or lost - in this case, you need to block the device using the application as soon as possible.
