Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium. First details

Autumn has come, which means that it's time to get acquainted with the new flagship line. At the IFA 2015 exhibition, held in Berlin, three updated top models were presented at once - Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium.

Let's start with the Z5, which received a new case with metal frames, engraving and a matte rear window. With the round power button that accompanied all models, starting in 2013, you can now say goodbye - now in its place is an oblong button with a built-in fingerprint scanner. The screen has become even brighter, and the color gamut is 130% sRGB. Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core 64-bit performance provides 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Changes also affected the camera, an updated 23-megapixel sensor, ultra-fast hybrid focusing, the ability to zoom five times and improved image processing algorithms take the quality of photos to a new level.

Like a year ago, at the same time the Z5 will go on sale and its smaller version - Z5 Compact, which will differ in size and 4.6-inch display, the rest of the characteristics are similar to the full-size version, except that the RAM is one gigabyte less.

And now let's move on to the most interesting, namely, to the top model Z5 Premium, the world's first smartphone with a 4K display! The resolution of the 5.5-inch screen is 3840x2160, which provides incredible clarity and image density (806 ppi). The smartphone allows you to shoot and play video with a resolution of 4K, as well as broadcast it to QuadHD-TVs wirelessly or via DLNA. In terms of hardware, the device is no different from the Z5 and Z5 Compact, except that the battery capacity has been increased to 3430 mAh, which provides up to two days of operation without additional recharging. As for the case, the frames of the Z5 Premium are made of stainless steel, and the back wall is made of mirror glass.

All three devices, of course, are protected from water and dust in accordance with the IP68 standard, support LTE Cat 6, are equipped with a protected USB connector without a plug, a 5-megapixel front camera, and have a quick charge function (EP881 charger sold separately).

The Xperia Z5, Z5 Dual and Z5 Compact will go on sale in October, and the Z5 Premium will hit the shelves in November.
