Avtolet - a hybrid transport of the future from the eighth grader from Moscow

Artyom Vasinyuk with the Avtolet project won the 2nd annual Telecom Idea Junior contest. He introduced a two-seater bicopter with a closed cabin. Now Artyom is collaborating with the Moscow Aviation Institute and is preparing a large-scale model suitable for flight.

Attempts to give the vehicle the ability to fly have been undertaken since 1917 . Most of the flying hybrid cars were a mixture of airplane and car. To take off, they need a strip, they have retractable parts. Folding structures are often unreliable.

Advantages of the Car Flight over other flying cars: lack of sliding parts - blades and wings, the possibility of vertical take-off and landing, high maneuverability, automatic stabilization.

The 3D model of the device resembles a flying Hoverbike motorcycle . In both cases, the vehicle takes off vertically, but there is a difference in design. The main difference: Avtolet - double and has a closed cabin. Passenger and driver are sitting next to each other.

The aircraft is equipped with four screws, two on each axis. Bikopters have a common drawback: they are unstable along the longitudinal axis. Stability along this axis in the Aviation will be achieved due to two independent from each other shutters "blinds" controlled by automation. With the help of a servo drive, the blinds will synchronously receive a given angle, deflecting the air flow.

Airplane speed - up to 160 kilometers per hour. Flight height - up to two hundred meters, which allows you to move both in the city and beyond.

The full-scale model will run on diesel. Using electric motors is not yet possible: there is not enough power to lift batteries into the air.

    Specifications (perceived):
    • Dimensions: 4400 x 1760 x 1500 mm
    • Weight: 500 kg
    • Marching speed: 165 km / h
    • Engine: two for 190-200 hp, 3200 rpm
    • Fuel: diesel
    • Take-off speed: 35 km / h
    • Flight height: 200 m
    • Payload: 350 kg

Now Artyom is preparing a large-scale model suitable for flight. By 2017, he plans to build the first unmanned aerial vehicle, in 2018 - a manned vehicle, and by 2020 to reach low-volume production.

The developer has no plans to immediately put everyone on the Aviation. In connection with the legal and legislative issues arising from the introduction of the new hybrid mode of transport, Avtolet is planned to be used by special services at the initial stages: this will unload the traffic flow, increase mobility and efficiency of special vehicles.

It remains to resolve legal issues: will a pilot's license be required for drivers of such vehicles.

    3D Auto Print Prototype

Among modern analogues - Aeromobil of the Slovak designer Stefan Klein. He developed version 2.5 for 20 years. Flight range - 700 kilometers, speed - 200 kilometers per hour. Engine power Rotax 912 - 100 horsepower. This device needs a runway. Version 3.0 in May 2015 crashed, the designer managed to eject.

The American company Transition is testing the eponymous plane. Its speed is 185 kilometers per hour, the range in the air is 724 kilometers. The cost of the device is 289 thousand dollars. The apparatus used a complex wing transformation system.

The British Malloy Aeronautics solved the problem of stability in the longitudinal axis in a different way: they spread the screws, making a narrow quadrocopter out of the bicopter.
