IFixit lightsaber disassembly: 10 out of 10 on the repair scale

The guys from iFixit got the lightsaber of the Jedi Knight and decided to see what was inside. Looking ahead, it is worth saying that the design of the sword was very logical, simple and practical. As a result, the team rated the device’s maintainability at 10 points on a 10-point scale.

It was also easy to disassemble the sword, however, there were a couple of difficult moments.

    Step 1. Design and dimensions

    Crystal: adegan
    Length: 15.8 cm

The handle is removed quite simply, while the crystal, the focus of the Force, is immediately visible.

Step 2. Leave the crystal for later

Before you open the crystal, remove everything that is on the handle. The design is quite simple and practical - just remove one mount and the handle can be disassembled.

At the same time, you can see the DC port for charging the device - the connector is visible very well. It is recommended that you deactivate the button that turns on the sword. Otherwise - Sith happens.

    Step 3. Continue disassembling

    Step 4. Remove the emitter

Step 5. We get to the crystal

    Step 6. Blade Generator

    Step 7. Activator

    Step 8. Batteries

There are no Li-ion batteries. Only diatom batteries, only hardcore.

    Step 9. Sith happens

No, no, all is well, the guys from iFixit claim that nothing happened. But we know ...

Step 10. Here it is, the crystal

Yes, such crystals are mined in a remote star system, so you need to work with it very carefully, it will be very difficult to find a replacement.

By the way, Jedi enemies use synthetic crystals.

Step 11. Finish disassembling the sword

    Step 12. Conclusions

Remontability of the sword - 10 out of 10. No difficulties (except the loss of the hand by one of the team members) arose. But these are trifles.

And so, the sword is disassembled by ordinary, basic tools. No glue, no hidden fixtures.

May the Force be with you!
