Descent 3
The first part of Descent, developed at Parallax Studios and published by Interplay, was released a year before the shooter Quake, in 1995. It differed from modern shooters by its truly three-dimensional map of the battlefield, in connection with which the developers spoke of “six degrees of freedom” (three dimensions and three axis of rotation of your ship). The battle, according to the plot, took place in mines on asteroids, where flying robots were furious because of a computer virus. To put things in order, in each of the missions it was necessary, controlling a small spaceship, to penetrate the center of the asteroid and detonate the nucleus of an atomic reactor. In total, three major versions of the game were released, up to Descent 3 in 1999.
The previous project Peterson's team worked on was the expected space MMORPG Star Citizen . In November 2014, they left Cloud Imperium Games to work on their own project, which turned out to be Descent: Underground. Meanwhile, work on the Star Citizen game, due out in 2016, is in full swing. This project, thanks to both the Kickstarter campaign and a similar campaign on the project page, has collected more than all other crowdfunding projects in history. Now the amount he has collected has already exceeded $ 70 million.
