This imperfect reality needs to be fixed: a selection of AR programs

More recently, the whole world went crazy with Pokemon Go, but it seems like years have passed since then. There is reason to believe that this year we will see a rapid increase in the number of augmented reality programs. In the latest version of iOS, Apple built in support for mechanisms that allow programs to supplement with any information any objects that fall into the field of view of the smartphone’s camera. This not only greatly facilitates the work of programmers, but also makes AR technology available to hundreds of thousands of iOS developers. In the meantime, the predicted abundance is not pouring on us yet, we decided to make a selection of interesting AR applications.

    Magicplan

This programlina can greatly simplify life if you are going to do your own repairs or remodeling. In fact, this is a simple editor in which you can create floor plans indicating some basic measurements. You can draw walls and floors in the old-fashioned way, manually, or you can turn on the augmented reality mode and poke it in the corners of the room. As a result, you can get a room diagram with quite good measurement accuracy. Moreover, the finished plan can always be quickly corrected quickly manually, if the automation is somewhere stupid.

    InkHunter

Do you want to fill the tatuha, but doubt whether it will suit you? If you do not want Mickey Mouse to be filled with the phrase “Thank you for Alupka” on your shoulder blade , then it’s better to try it on seven times. For example, with the help of InkHunter - here you can choose a picture of your heart from an extensive database and “apply” it to yourself. To do this, draw with a pen or felt-tip pen in the desired place three strokes - a “square smile” - and point the camera at them, and the selected tattoo will appear on you right away, you can rotate it like that. Here you can take a photo, so that later you can choose the most suitable option.

    Star walk 2

It happens that you go home by train or minibus, and above you is a heavy, cloudy sky. And so I want to look at the stars, and not at these clouds and clubs, either smoke, or a pair of pipes from the nearest CHP plant. Or you go out for a walk in the evening with a child, and you want to show him Cassiopeia, the Big Dipper and the Polar Star, but through the cloudy light cap from millions of lamps and headlights of a big city, the Moon breaks through. Or luck smiled at you, you look at the sky strewn with stars, but you have no idea where there are any constellations? If the weather, the delights of urbanism or truant astronomy lessons do not allow you to enjoy the picture of a bottomless space, you can use the AR-application and dream a little. Star Chart determines your current location and exact time,

    AR Dragon

This application is for children that dads and mothers do not allow to get a little animal. In essence, AR Dragon is the development of the idea of tamagotchi at a new technological level. First of all, they give you an egg, from which a dragon hatches. Show the camera the place on the floor where to summon the dragon, and that's it - now you are the proud owner of a fabulous big-eyed creature. He must be fed, he must be played, he must be trained. If all this is not done, the dragon will die of spleen and will fly away forever. Oh yes, all actions - throwing a bull's eye on a fairy creature, or leaving a ball with it - are worth magic crystals. If you follow the daily norm for feeding and entertainment, the crystals that need to be collected will crumble around the dragon as a reward. Otherwise, in the end, the pet cat will have nothing to feed and “dance”.

Unfortunately, we could not find an analogue for Android.

    Stack AR

The knowledge workers are well aware of the desire to do something very stupid, or at least simply unpretentious, to unload their brains from some task over which they have been racking their brains for the second day or month. There are tons of “unloading” options; each of us has our own favorites. You can safely put in a piggy bank of good decisions and augmented reality. In Stack AR, you just need to build a tower of tiles on any suitable surface.

    Quiver

A new word in the coloring industry. From Quiver you can print sketches of colorings, then manually, in the old school style, color them as your taste (or lack thereof) suggests, and point the smartphone’s camera at the masterpiece. And then - the magic of augmented reality. Children, and you too, will be delighted.

    Car finder ar

Useful program for car owners. It happens that you put a car in a parking lot near a hypermarket on a weekend, then you go out after a few hours of crazy shopping and walking your wife and children, you look at hundreds of cars and try to remember hard, but where the hell is your iron horse ?! Car Finder AR will save you from running around the parking lot. When you get out of the car, do not forget to press the “I parked here” button while standing near it. The program will remember the location, and then you can easily find the car by going along the arrow superimposed on the camera image. But since the program needs GPS, it will not work in covered parking lots.

    ZG: Revenant

Several important ingredients are mixed in this game: our boyish love for soldiers, love for everything shooting, especially bursts and banging loudly, as well as racial hostility to zombies. Place your small outpost on a convenient place on the carpet or on the table and take a helicopter pilot seat. Your task is to destroy as many waves of zombies as possible before your outpost is demolished. It will be demolished in any case, because the zombies will become stronger, they will be scattered more and from different directions. After each battle, they will give you money, spare parts for upgrades, new weapons. We attach machine guns, guns, rockets, strengthen their damage, put on a helmet with a thermal imager, and again we embark on an interspecific battle. And persistent advice: do not go far from the outlet. The game eats electricity, like a hippo brooms.

There are no iOS versions for Android yet, but there is a similar game of the same company Zombie Gunship : you need to play for the gunner AC-130 Gunship, and this is not augmented reality.
