CES 2015: new smart electronics for January 7

    Today at CES, even more interesting devices from the field of wearable electronics were presented, among which Medgadgets highlights the five leaders:
    • Smart lamp Misfit Bolt;
    • Nabu X - an inexpensive fitness bracelet from Razer;
    • Intel Curie - an energy-efficient chip for wearable devices;
    • Updated version of the infrared camera FLIR ONE;
    • Smart watches from Guess.

    Misfit Bolt - an inexpensive smart lamp from Misfit

    Misfit is not just a fitness bracelet manufacturer. At CES, a smart lamp was introduced, which is controlled remotely, it has its own application (Android and iOS).

    The application allows you to control the brightness of the glow of the lamp, color and, if you wish, the blinking frequency (you never know, suddenly you want to make a party at home).

    You can configure both a single lamp and control the whole system. The owner can program the lamp to change the mode of operation during the day or to automatically turn on / off when a person approaches.

    The price of Misfit Bolt is about $ 50 per piece and $ 130 for a set of three.

    Nabu X - a new bracelet from Razer

    Razer is actively engaged in work in a new market for wearable devices. Previously, the company released Razer Nabu, and now the Razer X bracelet. Due to the fact that the bracelet does not have a display, its price has been significantly reduced. So, for members of the Razer Insider community, this device costs $ 19.99. And for ordinary mortals - 49.99 US dollars.

    The bracelet can alert you to incoming calls and messages on your smartphone, as well as monitor the owner’s training activity. In addition, the bracelet is waterproof and can be immersed in water to a depth of 1 m (approximately 30 minutes).

    Intel Curie - New Smart Electronics Hardware Platform

    Intel Corporation introduced a new chip for smart electronics, including wearable devices. The new chip is so small that it can be used in devices whose size does not exceed the size of a button. At the same time, Intel Curie has a Bluetooth module and an accelerometer.

    Intel Curie Configuration:
    • 80 KB RAM SRAM;
    • 384 KB of internal memory;
    • 32-bit Intel Quark controller;
    • Motion sensor, accelerometer;
    • Bluetooth wireless module.

    The first deliveries will be carried out in the second half of 2015.

    The developers have improved the camera FLIR ONE

    The smartphone’s thermal imager, the FLIR ONE infrared camera, has been improved by the developers. Now the resolution of photographs in the infrared spectrum is increased, the functionality of the device is increased. In addition, it became possible to shoot time-lapse videos and panoramic shots.

    Guess Connect: a hybrid of luxury mechanical watches and electronics

    Guess decided not to follow the trends of the new era, when developers are trying to give electronic devices the appearance of a mechanical watch. No, Guess added a few smart features to a regular mechanical watch. It is clear that this would not have been possible without the use of electronics.

    The Guess Connect watch has a small display for displaying text notifications, and an LED signaling various events. The developers have also provided a Bluetooth wireless module that connects the watch to a smartphone or tablet.

    There is even a microphone with a speaker, allowing you to give your smartphone voice commands and listen to voice messages.

    Well, if the battery runs out - it doesn’t matter, the mechanical watch will work further.
