At the ROI, a petition was launched to abolish the implementation of the concept of “anti-piracy” collection in Runet

    imageOn the portal of the “Russian Public Initiative” a petition was published “Cancel implementation of the concept of the Russian Union of Copyright Holders on the introduction of anti-piracy fees on the Internet”.

    The rationale for this initiative says that “such a tax does not comply with the legislation of the Russian Federation, since most users will have to pay a tax for content that they do not consume. Such tax deductions will be made not in the interests of the entire population of the Russian Federation and not even in the interests of all Russian Internet users, but in the interests of a limited group of persons. In addition, there will be no guarantee that the copyright holders will actually receive any deductions from this tax. There is no way to determine what kind of tax share each copyright holder of a work of art should receive. Obviously, an agency that is not controlled by the company will be able to arbitrarily manage financial resources, which will lead to numerous abuses and financial scandals. ”

    And there is.
    Both the Internet industry and the active online community and a number of ministries and even individual organizations of copyright holders oppose such an attempt to introduce a new burden on the Internet space in Russia and, united in a single coalition , published their position and sent a corresponding letter to the President of the Russian Federation.

    The rightholders-initiators (RSPs) claim that they all misunderstood everything , they just want to collect 300 rubles from each Internet user per year, and this is only $ 860 million.
    That is comparable to the revenue of Yandex and Mail.Ru.

    So, friends, if you understood everything as it should - this initiative is waiting for you .

    To everyone's attention! Now you can’t withdraw your voice at the ROI - this opportunity was removed to exclude various manipulations. So immediately be attentive to the casting of your vote.

    Those who doubt the effectiveness of resolving issues through such tools have a great deal of truth in this .
    But I came across this very interesting presentation by Ekaterina Shulman (political scientist, lawmaking specialist, columnist of the Vedomosti newspaper) “Civil participation in lawmaking: tools and surrogates” and those who devote half an hour of their time to this speech will understand - why is it worth using such mechanisms of civic participation.
    Highly recommend! ->
