Probe "Fila" put into sleep mode

    Probe "Fila"

ESA, a European space agency, has tweeted that all of the Fila’s probe systems are in sleep mode because the battery is low.

Despite the difficulties encountered, the ESA evaluates the operation as successful. In addition, although the device has been put into sleep mode, data transmission to the ground using the Rosetta is still ongoing.

Scientists do not exclude the possibility that the device will be able to wake up if it receives enough charge. Let me remind you that the Fila experienced certain difficulties when landing on a comet: when landing, harpoons did not work, which were supposed to fix the probe on the comet. In this regard, the probe "bounced" from the surface of the comet, and landed a second time. However, the second time he sat down not where he was planned, and found himself in the shadow of a rock that did not allow him to receive enough solar energy (he has the ability to charge for only 90 minutes every 12 hours).
