The quanta around us: teleportation

Teleportation is a phenomenon originating from books and films in the genre of science fiction. Today, thanks to quantum entanglement, we can recreate this phenomenon in the laboratory. So far, we don’t know how to teleport physical objects, but we already know how to teleport information, encoding it with the help of quantum particles. This allows you to transfer data without fear that they might fall into the wrong hands.

Associate Professor Andrea Morello is a research fellow and lecturer at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. In 2013, he received the Malcolm Mackintosh Award in the Physicist of the Year nomination. This award is presented by the Australian Prime Minister for his contribution to science.
