Mozilla launched a site for owners of virtual reality glasses

Somehow, a rather important event passed by our attention: the Firefox browser turned 10 years old. During this period, the browser has become a truly indispensable tool for many users. In honor of this event, as well as to demonstrate what new technologies can give us, Mozilla launched a virtual reality site .

This resource is intended for viewing in virtual reality glasses, and is maximally "sharpened" precisely for this way of viewing. The developers call it “VR site about other VR sites”.

Creating a resource is the company's desire to try out new technologies that are becoming increasingly popular, as well as support the growing community of developers of applications for VR glasses.

Of course, the resource interface is brand new, there are no familiar clicks or scrolls. All actions are performed by gestures, movements of the head and hands. All solutions used to create the resource are posted on GitHub , including source code, tools for work, and reference information.

The site’s interface is at a very early stage of development, but you can work with the resource without any problems. The site has something to see. In particular, this is Sechelt, a WebGL flight over the coast of British Columbia. In addition, there is the documentary The Polar Sea, with the ability to rotate the camera 360 degrees. There is also the opportunity to dive into the depths of the sea, with the Diving app.

To watch all this, you need Oculus Rift video glasses, as well as the Firefox VR distributionfor Mac or PC. Also, the new resource will work with Chromium VR builds.
