Wednesday was a tough day for computer security professionals. For an undetermined reason, work on the New York Stock Exchange was simultaneously suspended , one of the largest airlines in the USA and around the world United Airlines suspended all flights , and the site of the venerable publication The Wall Street Journal gave an error 504.

The magazine’s problems were fixed after a couple of hours - first of all users were redirected to a temporary site, and then the main one was restored. The airline also coped with its problems, saying that the faulty router was the only fault, interrupting the work of the company's internal network. Due to an error, 59 flights were canceled and more than 1200 were delayed.

The stock exchange recovered not so quickly and only resumed tradingafter four hours of complete inaction . At this time, in order to avoid a commotion, the press service of the White House, the Ministry of Homeland Security and the exchange itself issued messages stating that this accident was not caused by any attacks , but was just the consequences of installing a software update.

As a result of a failure on the stock exchange, it was necessary to manually cancel all orders placed before the work break, of which more than 700,000 accumulated.

It is strange that just 12 hours before the start of the commotion, on Tuesday evening, the hacker group Anonymous in an ironic manner expressed hope that the next day will not be bad for Wall Street.

At the end of the commotion, the hackers successfully congratulated themselves on the prediction.
