DevDay on functionality. Report Recording

You may already know that once a month 2GIS holds DevDay - open meetings for outgoing developers. So, on December 15, we gathered 140 people to talk about functional programming.

We share with you the recording of two performances. The first video will be useful for entering the topic of FP, the second will talk about the pitfalls of Akka Streams.

You do not understand FP // Alexander Granin

Alexander Granin is a Haskell developer at Juspay Technologies. His talk is about myths revolving around functional programming and the applicability of FP today.

If you want to understand how the FP works, look at the Lego demo. She starts at 6:23.

Fast backend on Akka Streams // Ilya Vasin

Ilya Vasin writes on Scala in 2GIS. In the report, he talked about how to efficiently and easily process data streams using the Akka Streams library. Backpressure and how the flow processing graph segments communicate with each other were discussed as a bonus.

    Moment of nostalgia

3 years ago at CodeFest, our speaker Igor Kashkuta predicted how FP will develop in the future. On techno2gis you can see what has come true and what remained in your dreams.

Videos from past meetings are available on the DevDay channel on Youtube.
