This week we have good news again - we released new 3CX mobile clients for Android and iOS (they are currently in beta testing status), and found a solution to the activation problem that plagued 3CX users on Windows 7 64 bit.

    And now, first things first!

To receive the beta version of the 3CX client for Android, register in the 3CX beta tester program on Google Play and install a new client. You may need to uninstall the existing client first to install a new one.

Beta 3CX Client Version for iOS

Along with the release of the beta version of the 3CX client for Android, we also released a beta version of the client for iOS. Please note - the client is designed for iOS v10!

The iOS client has the same new features that appeared in the client for Android. In addition, thanks to the support of Apple CallKit, now you manage VoIP calls in the same way as regular GSM calls! For example, an incoming GSM call does not put a VoIP call on hold - you decide which call to prefer.

Currently, the beta testing program is limited to the first 1000 Apple IDs that users send via the registration form. However, try asking for an invite for testing in the comments on this news , specifying your Apple ID e-mail.

Solving the 3CX Activation Problem on Windows 7 64 bit

Unfortunately, many users who decided to install 3CX on Windows, at the very last stage, had a strange activation error, accompanied by the appearance of a window with a message like this:

    license_error.HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request Cache-Control: privateContent-Length: 1647Content-Type: text/html Server: Date: Fri, 11 Nov 201616:24:35 GMT

This error usually occurs when a firewall or HTTP proxy tries to filter packets. In this case, correct activation is not possible, and it is recommended that the user activate 3CX bypassing the proxy, or temporarily disable DPI .

However, in this case, users did not use DPI, and the reason was different - the name of the computer with Russian letters in Windows 7. By default, it is formed by the user name with the suffix -PC added .

It is the Russian characters in the computer name that cause the activation error! At the moment, we recommend that you simply rename the computer, removing the Cyrillic characters from the name , as shown in the figure. After renaming, restart the computer. To complete the installation of 3CX:

    • Configure and activate 3CX through the console - run C: \ Program Files \ 3CX Phone System \ Bin \ PBXWizard \ PbxConfigTool.exe
    • Configure and activate 3CX via the web interface - run C: \ Program Files \ 3CX Phone System \ Bin \ PBXWizard \ PbxWebConfigTool.exe (use the Chrome browser).

The following service packs will resolve this error.
