Interview with Pavel Ryakkonen, Executive Director of Nevosoft

As part of the international business conference on the creation of White Nights Moscow 2016 games, we interviewed Pavel Räikkonen, Nevosoft CEO.

What do you learn from the interview:

    • Why do game development companies have their own conference?
    • Why should developers go to conferences and what foreign gaming dev events should I go to?
    • Why 90% of developers do not earn and what to do to get into successful 10%?
    • What are the main trends of 2016?
    • Has the Asian market become more accessible for developers?

A full transcript for those who like to read rather than watch is available in an article on app2top . And under the cut - the main trends of the outgoing year from Paul.

The first trend that has been noticeable before is the vastness of the Asia-Pacific region. It is growing, despite the fact that for European, American and Russian companies, China, as the leader of the Asia-Pacific region, is still a very specific market.

Another interesting feature I would call the volume of fake traffic. This is more than $ 4.5 billion in losses on non-existent traffic, on bots and so on. I even admit that these are somewhat optimistic views, because the problem of bots and dishonest traffic is a significant one, and not only for the gaming industry, but in general for the advertising industry in general, and there is no complete understanding of how to deal with this.

The third I would indicate consolidation, a large number of mergers and acquisitions. In 2016, there were more than $ 25 billion worth of transactions in game dev.

Interview with Pavel is one of a small series of interviews with White Nights. Next in line are representatives of King, Playrix, Game Insight and many other companies.
