Two weeks ago, on October 5, the eighth meeting of Rambler.iOS took place, which we previously announced on Habré. This time the main emphasis was placed on the content of the conference itself - we prepared four cool reports, including one from a foreign speaker.

The first was Irina Diaghileva with a report "How not to become a victim of back-end" . Ira told us why it is so important to check the server’s response and the various subtleties in the implementation of validators based on JSON schemes. The report is supported by statistical data collected on the basis of experiments on several large applications.

Second report from our guest from Paris, Micha Mazaheri , "Make your app extensible with JavaScriptCore . " This is a story about creating a Paw http client , its functionality, and how to write a plug-in system for your application using JavaScriptCore.

During the break, the guests were given a unique opportunity to participate in the game “Guess the melody” prepared by Yegor Tolstoy and Gleb Novik and win prizes: licenses and conference tickets from our sponsors, a T-shirt or sweatshirt.

Then Stanislav Tsyganov made a report “Service-oriented architecture” , described in detail what SOA is, described the role of the service layer and clearly demonstrated the consequences of violating the basic principles of this architectural approach.

The latest was a report by Yegor Tolstoy, "Pure unit tests . " Yegor told why it is not necessary to be lazy and pay due attention to tests, touched on the topic of refactoring in testing, and also shared his experience of supporting more than 3,000 tests in one project.

The final stage was Afterparty in the bar-restaurant “Paper”, which gathered a record number of people and allowed the children to enjoy socializing in an informal setting.

    And a little bonus

We prepared a photo report from the event - speakers, a hall, a party, and, most importantly, a green ampersand!
