Official Russian cryptocurrency. What kind of beast will it be?

    image
    Rosfinmonitoring is holding consultations with parties interested in introducing the official Russian cryptocurrency - representatives of banks, the Ministry of Finance and the central bank. Such news appeared on the website of Kommersant Publishing House . There is no bill yet, however, it is reported that this currency will:
    • with regulated emission;
    • with licensed issuers;
    • with regulated exchange plans;
    • without anonymity.

    I would like to recall that the bill prohibiting the circulation on the territory of Russia of cryptocurrencies and other “money surrogates” was posted on the regulation.gov.ru portal .

    According to a Kommersant source, banks have not yet shown particular interest in this idea.

    Why did I write it here? Honestly, I don’t know. In my opinion, this idea, to put it mildly, is doubtful. Using blockchain technology will reduce the cost of bank transfers, however, the need for licensing of the issuer and regulated emissions will nullify this dubious plus. Who wants to spend their computing power on such an event? In my opinion, this “cryptocurrency” will not cause much demand among the layman either - the majority of the population does not know what it is, and those who know will naturally wonder “why?” And “do I need it under such conditions”. What do you think of this?
