Attention! Total rebranding. Biotrack becomes Workly

    Let me first explain why we decided to change the brand. There are a number of reasons:


    • The brand Biotrack was associated with many of our customers as something biotechnological, medical.
    • Either by chance or not, but in Spain there is a company with the identical name BioTrack and they ... (attention!) Are doing the same thing as us! Well, pretty much the same thing, they sell biometric terminals for access control and time tracking.
    • Also in the US there is a company called Biotrack - which deals with .... (ATTENTION!) Sale of medical marijuana !!! We received several requests for mail =). It is definitely worth noting that we ourselves came up with the brand name. Then, in the recent 2011 year, for the first time, we wrote software for Chinese biometric devices. And the name is simple - BIO (biometric) TRACK (control, monitoring).
    • Since now we have got rid of biometric equipment, the BIO prefix we definitely do not need.

    What needs to be done to change the brand for IT companies? Here is a list of what we went through:


    • Come up with a name. It was quite a long time ago to change the brand plans. We threw a few dozen options. It was difficult to choose from them. As a result, we settled on 10 options. Since the brand should not only be liked by us, we created a Google form and sent it to all our customers with 10 names. Of 321 respondents, 52% voted for Workly. Convincing victory!

    • Creation of a logo. Here we did not rediscover the “wheel” and used the font and icon from the old logo. Italics were also removed, since the logo with italics did not fit into the new system. logo biotrack - time tracking systemWorkly time tracking system logo

    • System redesign. The most time consuming process. The Biotrack system is very large and has many modules. There are also customer reviews in terms of UX. We put everything together and this is what we got:

    The employee’s position is now displayed on the system’s dashboard and for how long he was late, which is very convenient to view without going to the reports tab.

    Now we do not have a top undisciplined. Deshboard is a board of honor where you can see the most diligent employees and see how many percent of the working time each of them was present at work.

    The employee profile interface has been upgraded. A QR code appeared next to the photo of the employee, which is used by the employee to “check in”.

    • Website redesign. The site should be fashionable. Minimum text and maximum images. Great emphasis on the site is placed on the application TimePad - a mobile application for recording the arrivals and departures of employees.
