How IaaS Provider Helps Organize Payment Acceptance

How to optimize the work of the IaaS provider - we constantly talk about this in our blog on Habré. A couple of examples of materials with our cases:

    How it all started

Prior to the launch of our project, we assumed that the bulk of the clients would be individuals, but in the end, our services are also in demand by legal entities. From the point of view of working with documents, work with the latter had to be done in manual mode.

As the automation of other service systems, we got to accounting tasks - the problem with legal entities was resolved, and for individuals we connected Money.Online.

This tool suited us exactly until it stopped working stably. Starting from one-time technical problems and until the global fall from December 8 to 17, 2014.

We began to look closely at additional systems.

    Paypal

We continued to work with Money.Online, but found out that this service temporarily suspended cooperation with the PayPal payment system. An independent study of the documentation showed that working with the PayPal API requires numerous “dances” you know what.

For example, to import a customer ID into a payment form, we had to resort to various tricks with CSS rules and changing standard elements. There was no easy solution - PayPal support was not able to suggest a way out of the situation.

One way or another, we all set up and added PayPal as a new payment method.

    "Robokassa"

This was followed by another battle with the API of the new payment gateway. This time it was Robokassa. Of course, this is a more familiar payment method in the Russian-language segment of the Network.

Here we encountered difficulties in parsing the documentation. A number of requests did not match its description and produced the expected results as described. For example, a similar problem occurred while implementing tests for gateway integration.

Communication with colleagues from Robokassa allowed eliminating a number of outdated descriptions in the documentation and moving forward. As a result, this gateway was successfully configured.

    Result

Our efforts have provided 1cloud with two additional payment tools. They complement Money.Online well and insure the situation in case of next technological difficulties on the side of the payment gateway.
