New Java-conference from JUG.ru in Novosibirsk

    On Saturday, March 19, we will hold the first Java conference in Novosibirsk. It will be called JBreak. Here is her site .

    Reports will be held in parallel in three rooms, so there will be no time to miss. In total there will be about 20 reports lasting 50-60 minutes each.

    Why Novosibirsk?

    As many of you know, JUG.ru already has 6 Java conferences behind us - we have held Joker and JPoint 3 times . At first it was Peter, and since 2014 - Moscow.

    Our speakers and participants have long told us to do something in Siberia. They say that it’s far and expensive to go to St. Petersburg or Moscow, and Java-hardcore is not only wanted in these capitals of yours. This conversation first came to the speaker dinner after JPoint 2014, when Lyosha Shipilev and Nikita pjBooms Lipsky explicitly voiced this idea to us . Like, Novosibirsk is a huge city, it has a lot of javists, it has a strong compiler school, and most importantly, a lot of people who need a strong Java conference.

    At first, we responded to this proposal without much enthusiasm. We had a small team (I, real_ales and jetliner ) and we did not see the strength to make a conference in a city far away for us. And now look out the window a lot has changed. Our team has grown, strengthened and finally matured. At some point, we looked at Google analytics on the sites JUG.ru, Joker and JPoint and found that in Novosibirsk the interest in our activity is really quite large: Top 5 cities looked like this: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Minsk, Novosibirsk. It became clear: you need to make a konf in Novosib!

    What are the features of the new conference?

    Novosibirsk has already seen Java conferences, and not so long ago. In 2011, the conference was heldin the House of Scientists of Akakdemgorodok, and in 2013 it was held in the center of Novosibirsk in Hilton.
    In both cases, the conference was held in one hall, in both cases shurymury and pjBooms performed , in both cases Oracle was one of the main organizers.

    But in the Java world, the time for vendor conferences like Sun Tech Days is long gone. Java is a technology with a twenty-year background, and now they rule the conferences that users make for users. About Java technology, we have long been learning new things from the Internet - news, user cases, reviews, etc. What is driving today at conferences?

    A steers technical hardcore- ways to solve complex problems. Users to users. We traditionally set technical hardcore as the main theme of any of our conferences. JBreak is no exception. Among the confirmed reports:
    • Tagir Valeev aka lany will talk about what's wrong with the Stream API, and how to fix it ;
    • Nikita Lipsky aka pjBooms will talk about how they implemented support for Java 8 in Excelsior JET;
    • Alexander Matorin from SberTech will talk about how Generics work
    • Alexey Zinoviev aka zaleslaw will talk about these bigdates of yours: the internal Hadoop device, tuning JVM for it and monitoring GC;
    • Oleg Anastasiev aka m0nstermind will talk about modern distributed systems in general and Odnoklassniki architecture in particular;
    • SAP Volker Simonis Talks About JVM Intrinsics
    • Dmitry Chuyko from Oracle performance team will talk about Ahead-of-Time compilation in Java
    • Kirill Tolkachev aka tolkkv and Alexander Tarasov aka aatarasoff from Alfa Bank will talk about creating their own Spring Boot Starter.

    In addition to the above speakers, we are now talking with Alexei Shipilev from Oracle, Spring master Evgeny Borisov , Pivotal / Spring evangelist Josh Long , Enterprise performance guru Vladimir Sitnikov from NetCracker and several other excellent speakers.
    for those who are not enough
    You can subscribe to JBreak news on the site - the subscription form is in the lower left corner. We will report all the news of the conference, including announcements of new reports, in the weekly newsletter.

    In addition, we are open to suggestions - as always, any of you who want to make a report can submit an application , and we will certainly contact you and discuss your idea.

    Partners

    The conference would still remain a “project on paper” for a long time if it weren’t for SberTech and Luxoft, who have already very strongly supported the conference financially, and in the next couple of weeks, I hope, they will be supported by cool speakers as well;)
