Digest: “What did the Logomachine do in June-July 2017?”

Hello to all subscribers! Connected - Logomachine. We want to tell you what new things have happened in recent times. Today is the news for June and July.
54 fresh works
We add each logo to the portfolio, without exception, for these two months we posted 54 fresh works. These are not just logos - we always develop a logo in a presentation that shows how to properly use the logo, colors and style elements. Easier to see once: Portfolio . In two months, our customers' logos were viewed about 50,000 times.

In June, we decided to create an image-building project - a corporate identity concept for the Bitcoin cryptocurrency, at the moment, about 16,000 people have looked at Behance alone - this does not take into account other resources. Behance gave out a ribbon - graphic design to our project and placed it in his gallery. In addition to Bitcoin, the Behance ribbon and recognition in July received another project - corporate identity for web developers from Barcelona.

Production: Harnish Planters
In July, the Scrumban system was introduced, which, however, was later replaced by Waterfall (as the art director told us). So we had a visual system for tracking redlines (internal terms for development) - it helps to fit into the warranty period of 14 days, excluding weekends. Before we began to use this system, tracking deadlines was more difficult. This led to the fact that we presented the client with the logo that we developed.

We began to conduct daily morning planning meetings in which all office employees participate. At such a meeting, each of the employees voices their tasks for the day, and we also submit KPI for discussion. Planers are organized using Vern Harnish technology.
Such meetings help to synchronize with each other, to understand who is doing what, how much time it takes for him. In addition to daily planning meetings, there are weekly, monthly and quarterly - they help not to miss the direction of the company and give an understanding of how fast we are moving towards the goal.

Once a week we conduct webinars for the team on the work process, generating ideas, creating animations, etc. During the webinar, we note the minuses and growth points for the entire team, and then prepare small lectures on these points.

SMM department: hashtags and streams
At the beginning of the year in our Vkontakte community, the #logomachine_help column appeared. For this hashtag, we are looking for posts on social networks where people ask us for advice on logos and other design elements. We quickly show what can be improved in graphic terms in design and do a post in a group about it.

Our section is not a complete redesign, but only tips on what can be improved.
Once every 2 weeks we post a report in which we give general advice on improving design using our participants as an example. For the entire period of the existence of the column, we have helped 40 participants - they all received graphic tips, and the source files of the corrected logos are free. At the moment, the rubric has given us great coverage of ~ 394,000.
In June, we began to conduct live video broadcasts in our community, every Thursday we meet subscribers and new visitors on the stream.

At the broadcast, we briefly tell what happened in a week, what interesting things were released, what vacancies are, then we hold mini-lectures. For example, in recent broadcasts, Roman Gorbachev (founder of the Logomachine) talked about whether the world really needs logos? And showed a presentation with examples and interactivity. Next, we will conduct #logomachine_help online, where users send their design, and we, led by the art director, discuss the shortcomings and give advice. So far, we do not know what these meetings give us, but we like this format, and we will develop and continue it. Broadcasts with analysis of the design, we spend every Thursday at 18:00, in the community.
In July, we got new employees in the SMM department: copywriter Nikolai and 2 trainees - Lisa and Vanya.

Nikolay - copywriter

Vanya and Lisa - young assistants to the SMM department.
And over the past 2 months, the SMM department has released a bunch of useful articles:
- “4 mistakes in business cards”
- “How to explain design by a four-year-old?” - translation of an article by designer Dean Vipond.
- “Nike Brand History”
- “7 Ways to Use Blue in the Colors of Your Company”
- “5 easy ways to ruin a font”
- An article by our content manager on a personal blog is “4 methods of content marketing that will help attract attention to your brand . ”
That's all! Share what else you would like to know about us? We will take everything into account and try to tell in the next issue. Thank you all for your attention!
