Basis B1 biorecorder watch: what's inside a smart gadget?

    IMG_9416

You won’t surprise anyone with a smart watch, but the Basis B1 stands out among its own kind. The fact is that in this watch there are a large number of sensors that help you monitor your activity and life in general.

Medgadgets decided to see what is inside the smart device - which solutions are used by the manufacturer to achieve such device functionality. In the sequel - a description of the device, its functions, followed by a series of photos of the disassembled device, with comments by the "electronics engineer", plus a description of the gadget's capabilities. There are a lot of photos under the habrakat, so be careful if you have a paid / slow communication channel.

    Features of Basis B1

First of all, Basis B1 are positioned as a bioregistrator. The developers claim that their device is the most advanced fitness tracker in the world. Perhaps it is. In the lower part of the case there are a large number of sensors and sensors that help monitor the heart rate, sleep phases, energy spent per day, and body temperature (this function is rare, despite being in demand) and skin moisture.

    Sleep

As for sleep, Basis B1 accurately determine when a person fell asleep, and when he woke up. You can just lie down with a book, but the clock will not be deceived, and such a "activity" will not be recorded as a dream.

During sleep, the clock determines the various phases, demonstrating how fast a person is sleeping. Looking ahead, it is worth noting that Basis B1 can also work as a smart alarm clock, arranging an awakening just when it is easiest for a person to wake up.

    Activity

As mentioned above, the watch can monitor the dynamics of the heart rate, also tracking how many calories a person spent per day, how many steps were taken, how much time was spent running.

In order for a person to move more actively, the developers provided for a game factor: the owner of the watch can use special cards with tasks that allow him to develop a good habit in a person. For example, getting up at a certain time early in the morning, jogging, and being active for a certain amount of time.

During the run, you can monitor the heart rate or running speed, track your own temperature (especially true for the warm season) and skin moisture.

    Smart watch

In addition to biometric functions, Basis B1 is capable of doing everything that a smart watch should do: display notifications of incoming sms, e-mail, upcoming events and everything else.

To use the smart watch function, you need to pair the device with a smartphone (data transfer is via Bluetooth).

    Software

In order for a person to get a detailed picture, an analysis of their own activity, the developers of Basis B1 released a number of applications for mobile devices (Android, iOS) and for Windows, Mac.

All information is transferred to the application either wirelessly or via a data cable while charging the device.

By the way, charging is made interesting, in the form of a frame that is worn on the watch. During charging, if you are sitting next to a laptop or PC, you do not even need to remove the watch from your hand, the frame is put on the watch from above.

Conclusion : Basis B1 - universal device, which will help to organize time, and not to miss the message, and wake up on time. Probably, Basis B1 has no equal gadgets in functionality. No wonder Intel bought a development company - the watch has a great future.

By the way, now a new model is coming out, the next generation of Basis. We will also analyze this gadget, a little later.
