The smartphone comes in a small brick box. The kit comes with a charger, a USB-micro USB cable, headphones and two pairs of interchangeable ear pads of different sizes.

    Appearance

The front side in its design is very ascetic, nothing more. PadFone E (pictured right) is slightly larger compared to the PadFone mini 4.3 smartphone:

There is a thin glossy frame around the display that expands at the bottom and is almost invisible on the top and sides, until you turn one of the edges of the smartphone towards you. Between the front camera lens and the silver speaker grid, subtle light and distance sensors are located.

PadFone E housing is plastic, soft-touch coated. The outlines are soft, rounded. However, the sensation of "remnant" does not occur, it is very pleasant to hold in your hand.
On the back there is a camera and flash:

On the bottom there is a connector for connecting to the dock:

On the right side are the micro USB connector and volume buttons.

The left end is not busy with anything:

The power button and audio jack are located on the upper edge. Not the best place for the power button, you have to reach with your index finger or use your second hand.

The power and volume buttons are made of black plastic. It does not look as interesting as the same PadFone mini 4.3. The buttons have a small stroke and quite soft.

Having removed the cover, we see the battery (non-removable!) And slots for two SIM-cards and a memory card: The

smartphone is quite lightweight, weighs 126 grams. The smartphone is quite large, so it is most convenient to use it for people with medium and large brush sizes. Those with small hands will be uncomfortable reaching for the power button.

    Display

The smartphone uses an S-IPS matrix with a diagonal of 4.7 inches and a resolution of 1280x720. As a protective glass, Corning Glass (from the manufacturer Gorilla Glass) with an oleophobic coating is used.

The image is very clear and contrasting. The color rendition is somewhat shifted to the area of warm tones, but it is very easy to adjust using the proprietary application ASUS Splendid. The brightness is at a good level.

    Camera

Unlike PadFone mini 4.3, it uses a 13-megapixel main camera. In addition to the higher resolution of the pictures, there is also a wide dynamic range (first shots with mini 4.3):

However, the noise level in low light is too high, so in such cases it is better not to shoot without a flash.

High-speed shooting mode allows you to take pictures with a frequency of 13 frames / sec. You can make animated gifs without converting from a video file.

    Software

As an operating system, Android 4.3 uses the standard ASUS graphics shell. Of the branded applications, the already mentioned Splendid, SuperNote (a program for creating notes that recognize handwriting input), and also App Lock (allows you to set password protection to run any application) are preinstalled.

    Wireless & Navigation

As in PadFone mini 4.3, the choice of two SIM cards for making a call or sending SMS is very simple:

PadFone's wireless capabilities are similar to mini 4.3: LTE and 5 GHz Wi-Fi are not supported. But it is possible to use the GLONASS system in addition to GPS.

    Performance

The smartphone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor (MSM8226) and an Adreno 305 graphics accelerator. The exact same set, including the operating frequency, is used as in PadFone mini 4.3. The amount of memory is 1 GB.

As you can see, the performance is exactly the same as that of the "younger brother", which is not surprising. The speed of the smartphone is absolutely enough for comfortable work in the vast majority of cases, this is a good, strong “middle peasant”.

    Duration of work

The smartphone is equipped with a battery capacity of 1820 mAh. Not too much by modern standards. However, this is at least 20% more than the PadFone mini 4.3.
Surfing the Internet via Wi-Fi, with periodic watching videos on Youtube and listening to background music, with an average screen brightness: 8 hours 10 minutes.
    Watching FullHD-movies (1920x1080): 4 hours 50 minutes.

    Conclusion

In fact, PadFone E is a more "solid" and large, improved version of PadFone mini 4.3. Good performance, a 4.7-inch display with HD resolution, excellent build quality and materials, a discreet design, a case resistant to drops and shocks - all this allows us to recommend the smartphone to a very wide range of users. Support for two SIM cards allows you to refuse to use two smartphones for personal and professional needs, where it is more convenient, simpler and cheaper to simply select and activate the desired SIM card. Almost perfect corporate smartphone.

    Recommended retail price: 11,990 rubles.
