One of Trossen Robotics customers posted a video showing off his new device, Toro-Bot. These are self-propelled robotic platforms on which lamps in the traditional Japanese style are installed. Thus, the author suggests making the lighting of any garden dynamic.

From the video description:
We imagine a garden that takes care of itself on its own, which somehow understands and interprets the laws of harmony and balance, after which it changes itself depending on the time of year, the presence or absence of people. Such a self-developing structure, creating dynamic connections between the constituent elements of the garden.

Each lamp is programmed for a different behavior, which gives them individuality. For orientation in space, infrared sensors are used. The robots are connected to the XBee wireless network, whose central computer makes it easy to control them from mobile devices, as shown in the video.

In addition, each lamp has a flashing infrared beacon at the top of its head. This allows you to track the location of robots in the garden using an infrared camera, as well as program much more complex patterns of behavior.
