At the G20 summit, Russia presented diplomats with “bookmarks” flash drives

These days, the largest Italian media were full of such headlines, including Corriere della Sera and La Stampa.

According to the press, in the flash drives, USB hubs and other electronic souvenirs that were presented to diplomatic workers and businessmen at the September G20 summit in St. Petersburg, hardware bookmarks were found. Details about the types of bookmarks and their operation are practically not reported, it is only known that they are able to read data from computers and smartphones (perhaps this principle was also used ).

The devices were checked by German special services at the request of the President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, and it is alleged that the devices were handed over for examination a few days after the end of the summit, and the results became known only now.

The Russian side has denied all the allegations, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov commented on the situation, saying that, in his opinion, these articles are custom-made and written in order to divert public attention from the problem of US espionage over European countries.
