Shave your mustache - save the planet

Earth civilization is once again in danger. The alien invaders, called Uriks and looking exactly like the most ordinary human mustaches, seek to enslave people and turn them into impotent performers of their will. Whose side in this conflict will you choose? Hurry to save the planet? Or will you share with Urik the discontent regarding the current state of affairs on her? Intel and Toshiba are introducing the new social thriller The Power Inside . Social means, and you, including, can take part in its creation.
Social films (they can also be called “Facebook” with the same success, because it was M. Zuckerberg’s social network that became their main refuge) is a logical and inevitable generation of Internet 2.0, which has erased the line between the authors of content and its consumers. An interested community plays an important role in their creation - it generates ideas, plot twists, images and, of course, delivers actors. In addition, sociality implies additional types of interactivity, for example, in the form of gaming or creative applications. In short, a social film is a full-sized virtual reality created by Internet users.

The first such film was released in 2011 and was called “Him, Her and Them” (“Him, Her, and Theirs”). In the same year, the tandem of the well-known Intel and Toshiba companies became interested in the idea. Significantly increased budgets and innovative technologies allowed to bring the quality of video material to a fundamentally new, Hollywood level. Famous American actors began to appear in projects. The first film under the auspices of Intel was the thriller "Inside" ("Inside") with Emmy Rossum in the title role. Its plot is as follows. The energetic girl Christina finds herself locked in a room - it is not known by whom and why. Her only connection with the outside world is a laptop and the Wi-Fi network is disappearing every now and then. At the other end of the network should help to understand what is happening. The second film, “The Beauty Inside”, was released in 2012. Its main character, Alex, every morning wakes up in a new body, remaining internally the same - a kind of fantasy on the theme of "Groundhog Day". Together with the audience, he makes an integral picture of his life, consisting of individual pieces.

And so this year a new project was launched - now with the taste of alien aliens and specially invited Hollywood star Harvey Keitel. This time, the action takes place around the Nile - a loser of twenty-something years. Nil is amazingly unlucky in life: he has a bad job, problems with his personal life and friends. But these problems, as it turned out, are far from the biggest ones that he will have to deal with ... for his mustache-invaders have already targeted him.
You yourself decide for whose benefit you are creating the creative. If you decide to play for people - shoot a short video clip about how to shave off your mustache in protest (or otherwise get rid of them). Fans of Uriks are invited to take a photo in which, after a little refinement, you will look like one of the infected alien mustache. Your work may well be included in the film or in any materials about it.

The film will consist of six series; the first one was released on August 14, the second, as promised, will be presented to the audience tomorrow, on the twenty-second. In between - discussion, interactive, contests and prize draws on the community pageon Facebook. And then - new ideas, new films. Who knows, maybe we are present at the birth of popular spectacles of the future? At least the series in their current understanding of social cinema can certainly move. And this will be another victory of the Internet and virtual reality.
