Vkontakte audio blocking. Restore playlist

If you have blocked several of your favorite tracks and do not want to leave VKontakte audio recordings, that is, exit. Due to the blocking of audio recordings, this topic has become popular. Some believe that “music” is a powerful argument in order to use VKontakte. In this article, I’ll tell you how I tried to recover locked songs so that they wouldn’t fall out of playlists.

Title

Already a lot of jokes were born about changing the name of the composition. If you try to download a song with altered or deleted metadata , as a result, the download window will report an error. I dare to assume that even if you change the name of the song on VKontakte, it will still be blocked. So, it makes no sense to change the name of the song.

Content

Now it’s obvious that the contents of the audio files are being checked. There are many mixes of various tracks, which, unlike the original ones, are not blocked. For happiness, it remains only to learn the algorithm for checking songs for originality. The first thing that came to mind was to cut the silence at the end and try to download. This, in my opinion, is the most harmless thing that can be done with an audio file. Oddly enough - it did not help. It is understandable that in many audio files there is a long and unnecessary silence at the end. And it would be foolish to leave the ability to simply trim it. Just in case, I tried to cut out the silence at the beginning, which also did not bring success.
It became known that the file is checked only in the main part - without silence at the beginning and at the end. It’s very sad to cut off a piece from your favorite song. Therefore, it is necessary to find out the minimum cut off. At the same time, you can change the recording so that the human hearing does not even notice. For example, select two vertices and remove the gap between them.

The program on the screen.
Sony Sound Forge 10 was used.

After a series of experiments with cutting and downloading songs, it was found that for profit it’s enough to cut about 3-5 milliseconds from the main part of the music. Most likely, the audio file is greatly “simplified” and verified with the same templates of the original songs.

Quality

It turned out that you can bypass the error in another way, without cutting anything. It is enough to slightly lower the quality of the recording.
To solve this problem, I have identified 2 approaches:
  • Convert an audio file a couple of times with the same quality settings as the current ones.
  • Dramatically lower the recording quality by setting the parameters in the converter worse than the current ones.

As a result, you can pass the test and at the same time, the recording quality, for the human ear, will not differ. For some files that you downloaded somewhere, it will be enough to convert them to the same format once.

Conclusion

I prefer the method with cutting, as it spoils the quality of the track less.
There is a great chance that the algorithm for checking audio recordings will change after some time.
I think that the music is not deleted, since some scripts still display information about the bit rate and the file size of the song. If so, then it will probably be possible to play back locked records through a script.
If you wish, you can share in the comments services such as VKontakte audio recordings. For me personally, the big plus was the free and extensive track database.
